Mutianyu has many steps, though shorter walks are possible. Cable car, chairlift and slide options depend on operation and are quoted separately when applicable.

About 60 km northeast of Beijing, Mutianyu once guarded the capital and imperial tombs. Its densely spaced watchtowers, crenellated parapets and forested mountain setting make it a rewarding introduction to the Wall.
Choose an 8:00 am or noon departure, or request a customized time. The drive typically takes around 1½–2 hours. Allow about two hours on the Wall with your English-speaking guide, who explains its history and helps with tickets and photographs.
Walk down or choose an operating cable car, chairlift or toboggan service. Ask about ride costs when booking. Weekends and holidays can be busy.
Gold service offers a private driver, ticket assistance and independent exploring. Platinum adds an English-speaking guide. Airport or station transfers and a Ming Tombs Underground Palace extension can be arranged; confirm the package, meals and supplements in your quote.
